In this multimedia sound installation Zullo placed a large resonating tube in a public library for a full day and invited people to stick their heads in, hold and release their breath, and answer the question: “What makes you breathless?” Throughout the day, individuals used the intimate space of the tube in ways that both complimented and exceeded this prompt, revealing personal stories, jokes, weird noises, and communal music making. When We Lose Breath, is an edited collage of these recorded stories, muses, fears, hopes, and of course, breath.
